About us

 Medicine as a practical science in the service of the sick person is based both on scientific knowledge and necessarily on elements of the humanities.

The Institute combines the disciplines of medical ethics and medical history in one large independent institution, thus pursuing the humanistic approach to medicine in teaching, research and clinical ethics consultation. 

Medical ethics and history of medicine are represented in the teaching of the preclinical and clinical study sections of all medical subjects (medicine, dentistry, molecular medicine). For several years, there has also been close cooperation with the Department of Philosophy and the Department of History, whose students can regularly attend courses at the Institute.
